FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What exactly is Insight’s role in my organization?
With Insight, you will align with a strategic partner who aims to understand you and the DNA of your business. As a result, we will help you focus on core processes, products and services that will grow you, your people and your customer relationships.
Insight is an outsourced leadership and management team partner who is actively engaged in your organization and helps you sort through the confusion of business initiatives. We help you focus on those that strategically matter most. Our clients consider us as a part of their management team. Depending on the project, we serve in the capacities of strategic planner, chief innovation officer, operations officer, human resource director or sales and marketing director.
Insight is a resource for you to outsource the management of strategic and people development functions that are often overlooked. An accountant is your financial advisor, an attorney is your legal advisor, and Insight is your strategic growth advisor. We round out your leadership and management teams as necessary to provide growth-related functions that translate your vision into the development of innovative operational systems.
Our purpose is to provide businesses with a new strategic context for doing business and establishing relationships in this new innovation era. We offer you the ability to focus on what is core to your business by strategically aligning our proven combination of Passion, Strategy, Collaboration and Process to achieve growth.
What can be expected as the most difficult aspect of working with Insight?
Undoubtedly, we hear that initially the most difficult thing for clients to overcome in their relationship with us is trust. So many small and medium businesses have been taken advantage of by a range of traveling and big business consultants where they never really achieved closing the loop in resolving their problems. We find that some of this lack of closure was due to the client’s own lack of knowing how to guide engagement with consultants. Also, there are plenty of consultants who are incompetent at navigating deeper levels of change and innovation within organizations. Such consultants get so caught up in selling services that they become blind to what the organization can actually handle.
We understand our clients’ ambivalence. At the same time, we can’t do our job when continual distancing and lack of intimacy are present in our relationship with clients. We expect trust, which is built by our honesty and the client’s ability to let go of conventional wisdom. Trust requires openness to learning new ways of operating. It also requires patience to uncover important, pivotal issues while carefully developing new solutions. At times, clients must even let go of some tasks that are best to abandon or some tasks may be best served for others to handle in order to clear the clients’ plates for more important initiatives.
Thus, lack of trust always evolves to a lack of ability to work together and it always affects the ability to achieve desired results. Trust and letting go are the only significant difficulties we have experienced with clients. When they exist, we are honest about it and typically disengage until they can be gained at a later time.
Will our other managers accept Insight?
Our best results start with developing trustful relationships with the owners and leaders of organizations. Next, we interview and develop relationships with middle managers and administrative staff. When projects follow this protocol, along with defining specific project objectives that are meaningful to your staff, we find that acceptance throughout the organization naturally evolves.
Our job is to navigate the development of relationships throughout your organization. We will form our objective view that considers the perspectives of both leadership and managers. We strive to execute appropriate tactics that translate differences and find creative ways to integrate organizational goals along with individual employee goals. We rarely see that this alignment is not possible when all parties are honest and engaged toward common goals. In such rare situations when we cannot find honest and common ground, we don’t waste time and we will communicate this with you immediately. Usually this act in itself works toward resolution. Otherwise, we may mutually agree to disengage until such honesty and acceptance can be found.
How will results be measured?
Each strategic situation calls for different measurements. As we define your objectives and plan a specific project, we will define the key factors and measurements for success. These measurements may include profitability, sales growth, employee satisfaction, customer retention, brand awareness, ability to meet deadlines, team synergy or leadership effectiveness. Regardless, we will present the recommended measures, how they should be measured and how much they will cost to measure them over specific and appropriate periods of time. Then, we will help you consider the costs and internal or external resources required to gather accurate information for measuring the progress of your growth. We will then take the best solution and help execute the action plan for setting up and testing the measurements system as needed.
How does Insight charge for their services?
After conducting a free preliminary review of your desired outcome, we will construct a customized proposal that is based on a monthly budget for our fees. This monthly budget is targeted to achieve the outcome while also being fiscally responsible for your business. Each month, we will invoice you for the monthly budget and we will track actual time to be sure the budget fulfills a quarterly average of time spent. Generally, our services must fulfill our ability to achieve financial stability within our hourly rates depending on the people and services rendered. The monthly budget is adjusted as mutually agreed per the scope of work that you require.
We scope projects within 4 to 24 month timeframes for completion. We believe it is important to keep focused on the task at hand before introducing new projects that can be distracting to the main objectives needed for growth. When multiple projects are required to achieve your objectives, we will try to sequence them in the order of completion that makes sense. Typically, one project is needed before the needs of others can be realized. However, it is sometimes necessary to work on multiple tracks at once. In such cases, we can accommodate those needs, however, only if your organization’s time and resources can handle it.
Am I required to use Insight’s BLOOM™ technology?
No. BLOOM™ Performance Optimization System is presented as a product of Insight that supplements our services on an as need basis. If BLOOM will assist in streamlining your strategic and people performance functions; we will demo the product for you at the appropriate time and provide a quotation for the monthly licensing fee. Am I required to use Pathfellow® members’ services?
No. Pathfellow® services are only suggested when your organization lacks the resources to execute. If deemed necessary, Insight will arrange for you to meet a Pathfellow business owner of a particular business area to determine chemistry and fit. Then as needed, Insight will scope the needs for the Pathfellow member to prepare and present a proposal to you. We will also arrange competitive quotations to be submitted by other Pathfellow members or by your own contacts as you wish.
What is the Insight Studio?
Our offices are designed to be a highly creative, engaging environment for conducting a variety of sessions for up to twelve people. Often our clients’ work space is not appropriate for eliminating distractions and helping them focus on the matters which they want to solve and create. Therefore, our facilities support formal presentation, informal brainstorming and even meals for intensive work sessions. We call this a “studio” environment because of the open and creative space that it offers. We have found that our commitment to this environment has had profound effects on our clients’ confidence in us and the outcomes that we are able to mutually achieve in this safe and engaging space.
