2011-2012 Program Details
Lessons from Lincoln - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
October 26-28, 2011
Historic Gettysburg Hotel
Among American heroes, Lincoln continues to have a unique and universal appeal. His remarkable life story — the rise from humble origins, the dramatic death — and from his distinctively human and humane personality as well as his historical role as saviour of the Union and emancipator of the slaves, continues to both charm spirits and elevate thought. His relevance endures and grows especially because of his eloquence as a spokesman for his passion: democracy. In his view, the Union was worth saving not only for its own sake but because it embodied an ideal, the ideal of self-government.
The October Lessons from Lincoln trip is limited to a group of 10 executives. We will travel to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania per our program itinerary. This program offers immersion in the life of Lincoln, combining classroom discussion devoted to management issues and skills, guided tours of historic sites, meals at historic taverns, and lodging in the grand Gettysburg Hotel.
